I’ll just get straight to the point regarding this dilemma about training programs for males vs. females…the answer is NO. There are principles that lay the foundation for training: bodyweight exercises before external loading stress, the core, multi-joint exercises rather than single joint (isolative exercises), training the backside (posterior chain).

This really pertains to the female athlete because the female athlete can’t afford to lose the hard earned muscle trained for in the off season. I just spoke to a couple of parents who called me in regards to recruiting college coaches concern about their kid being slow or not powerful. So College recruitment sways in another direction even though they were great hoopers!
